The Charlotte Music Awards showcases all aspects of music in Charlotte and the Carolinas. Our goal is to enhance the profile of the music community in the region and support local music and local artists. With such a large talent base in a region steeped in rich musical tradition, the Charlotte Music Awards hosts between eight to ten showcases in different genres for local residents, and bands from all over the region compete for top honors. The CMA Country Music Showcase, featuring 12 bands, will be held Sat. June 16th at the LKN Music Hall in Cornelius www.lknmusichall.com, Come out and enjoy Lake Norman's newest LIVE MUSIC venue. We'll have the Carolina's best Country Bands on stage in the Music Hall and Food & Drinks outside in the parking lot. The performances feature The Bobby Ray Bittle Band, Brooke Mcbride, Carson Hill, Jeff Taylor, Katie Basden, Michelle Leigh, Monika Jaymes, Ryan Daniel, Tim Hall & Buffalo Country, Travis Powell, and Velvet Truckstop. The winner will get to perform at our Red Carpet Affair, Dec 1st, and be eligible to be chosen to perform at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards Red Carpet in Nov. in Los Angeles. Charlotte Music Awards “Women In Country” Showcase on June 23rd at Easy Eddie's
The Charlotte Music Awards “Women In Country” Showcase will be held at Easy Eddie's in Huntersville. Come join us for some great Country Music! The musical talent and performances from these Carolina Women is a show you will not want to miss. Easy Eddie's provides ample parking and a great menu. There will be many surprises in store throughout the evening, so make sure you purchase your tickets in advance for $8 or $10 at the door. Check back with us for band lineups as the event “Kicks Off” at 7pm. The winner of this showcase will be performing at the Red Carpet Affair, Dec 1st and be eligible to be chosen to perform at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards Red Carpet in Los Angeles.

SKINNY VELVET WINS THE 2012 ROCK SHOWCASE
The Charlotte Music Awards is proud to announce “Skinny Velvet” as the winner of the Rock Showcase, April 26, 2012 at The Chop Shop. Thank you to all of the nominees, CRISIS, Funky Geezer, Velvet Truck Stop, Shadow of Myself, Chris Sanchez and Skinny Velvet for wonderful performances. As the winner of the showcase, they will proceed to the Charlotte Music Awards Red Carpet Event to perform on December 1st. As the winner, he will proceed to the Charlotte Music Awards Red Carpet Event to perform on Dec. 1st. Jeff Cheen, Founder of the Charlotte Music Awards, presented a Special Recognition Award to Brent Harvey, Co-Founder of the Hollywood Music In Media Awards, at it's annual Red Carpet event in Hollywood on Nov. 17th. Mr. Harvey was also a presenter at the CMA Red Carpet Affair in Charlotte, NC on Dec. 8th. The CMA's and HMMA's are sister organizations.
