The Charlotte Music Awards showcases all aspects of music in Charlotte and the Carolinas. Our goal is to enhance the profile of the music community in the region and support local music and local artists. We have the talent base. And the region has a rich musical tradition. The Charlotte Music Awards presents a Showcase Series that culminates in an annual Awards Ceremony. The first Awards Ceremony was held in September 2007 at Ovens Auditorium. This event celebrates the best of the Carolinas’ vast and diverse musical talent. Awards are presented for all types of musical accomplishments across a broad range of genres (see Award Listing). Moreover, the Charlotte Music Awards presents Lifetime Achievement Awards to deserving individuals who have shown a sustained commitment to music as part of or beginning in the Carolinas music scene. |

| The Charlotte Music Awards is undertaking measures to make local music a destination activity and even a tourist attraction not only through the Showcase Series and sponsorship of other musical events but also by advocating for a Charlotte Music Awards Walk of Fame to celebrate those who have contributed to the region’s musical history. | |
