The Muzak Heart & Soul Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to redefining and expanding the scope of music education. To achieve this goal, the Foundation works to provide new and exciting ways to help students achieve their musical aspirations. At the forefront is Noise!

Noise! is a unique summer program for teens who long to understand and someday be a part of the music industry. Noise! is loud! Not to mention life altering, mind-bending and dream-inspiring. At Noise!, teens 15–17 years old learn from a wide range of role models including artist managers, record label producers, music critics, audio architects and other industry insiders. The students also receive a first-hand look at the environments within which these industry professionals work. They are given the opportunity to explore various careers within the music industry—better equipping them to pursue their dreams and turning those dreams into real world opportunity. Thirty-two students with a passion for music are selected from all over the country each year and given a full scholarship to attend Noise!

The Muzak Heart & Soul Battle of the Bands is a contest in which high school “garage” bands compete for the title of “best band” in a local community. By sponsoring a Battle of the Bands, the Muzak Heart & Soul Foundation is able to benefit students interested in the music industry by giving them the opportunity to be recognized and perfect their performance skills.

As the Muzak Heart & Soul Foundation continues to grow, there are plans to continue giving money back to local school programs in the form of instruments, building music departments, supplemental music materials and more. Since the inception of Heart & Soul in 1998, the Foundation has given more than $1 million to more than 75 schools nationwide in support of local music programs.
