Guidelines
  To be considered for recognition by the Charlotte Music Awards:
The artist (or more than 50% of the artists if a group) must reside in the Carolinas.
Submissions for Best Song, Best CD and Best CD cover must have been released between Aug. 1, 2007, and Aug. 15, 2008.
Genre specification is highly selective and subject to considerable debate. The artist will be considered in either the primary or secondary genre chosen based on the decision of the Advisory Council as to which genre is most appropriate. Decisions of the Advisory Council are final.
